Team Wilder volunteer

Team Wilder is looking for volunteers to assist with their delivery.

If you have an interest in education, gardening or growing, or just have some spare time and skills, we would love to hear from you.

You could be part of a local community group, a business with allocated volunteer days or maybe you are interested in some team building activities. We also welcome individuals, friends, and families to be a part of this positive work. 

The aim of these projects is to increase opportunities on island for young people to learn, and to provide additional spaces for families to grow their own produce.

This volunteering task will be on a pre-planned basis consisting of “work days” to allow us to get cracking and start working through some priorities. 

 

A few of the Team Wilder projects are listed below:

Making St Anne’s School’s Secret Garden safer for students

• Repair of garden steps

• Re-development of pond

• Making the garden more friendly for the children, wildlife, and native flora

The creation of Alderney’s first model Wildflower & Wildlife Garden

• Removal of existing invasive flora

• Preparation of site, including dead hedging and creation of a small wildlife pond

Creation of Miniature Allotment Site

• Levelling of ground

• Creation of raised beds with re-used pallets

Development of Pollinator Project

• Increasing locations for Wildflower seeds

• Assisting in distribution and seeding of Wildflower seeds
