Annual Events

Arbor Day

In February the AWT organise this day of events based in the woodland, this might be tree planting, guided walks, talks or scavenger trails, or other practical work.

Earth Hour

Every year, we commemorate Earth Hour. This hour allows us to not only connect with nature, but each other as well, as only as a team can we truly respond to devastation of climate change. Check out our What's On page to find out what we're doing this year!

Easter Shark Egg Hunt

On Easter Monday we look for the eggs of the elusive chocolate shark! But the main aim is to find and record the egg cases of sharks and rays found in Alderney's waters.

Wildlife Week; Alderney in Every Sense

One of the AWT's main events, the May half term is always jam packed full of events for the whole family. Everything is covered from rockpooling to minibeast hunts to foraging. At the end of the week we have a talk from our guest speaker, different each year.

30 Days Wild and the Big Wild Weekend

Throughout June we help you plan and take part in one wild thing for every day of the month! Halfway through is the big wild weekend, with some special events to keep you going all the way to day 30.

Wildlife Weekend and Fayre

The late August bank holiday weekend is another key time for events with the AWT. The Sunday is the Alderney Fayre, full of local crafts, wildlife information and activities and often one of our patron hosts the event.

Woodland Week

For National Tree Week in November we have a full week of events based around the woodland. This often includes educational events with the school as well as public walks, talks and tours throughout the week.

Boxing Day Walk

Burn off those Christmas calories with a walk around some of the most beautiful parts of the island on Boxing Day.
