Latin name: Pseudoterpna coronillaria

Forewing length: 16-20mm.

Despite the name it is actually mainly found in southern and south-west Europe with the population on Jersey being very isolated. It was consequently misidentified and overlooked on Jersey until 2001. It was then discovered on Alderney in 2006 and is now resident on both islands. Its flight season is between June and July when it can be found in open areas of Broom and Gorse.

Identifying feature: A grey dusted appearance with very dark brown central cross-lines on the forewings and a white cross-line below the lower dark cross-line.
