Latin name: Orobanche purpurea

Yarrow Broomrape is a parasite of the very common Yarrow’s (Achillea millefolium) roots, but its range in the UK is limited only to Norfolk and the Isle of Wight. It is relatively common on Alderney. It is typically found in cliff-top or coastal grasslands and can usually be seen on Platte Saline, Braye and Longis Commons.
