Alderney is famous for not containing any large mammals in its terrestrial habitats. Deer, foxes, badgers, stoats and weasels are all absent from the island.
However, Alderney is home to a whole multitude of small mammals with the likes of bats and hedgehogs (including the rare 'blonde' form) resident across the island. The waters around Alderney also host a few species of marine mammals.
Use the carousel above, or the links on the side of the page, to find out more information on Alderney's mammals.
You can also navigate to our terrestrial mammal and marine mammal galleries to view more high quality photographs of Alderney's mammals.
