Latin name: Cystoseira tamariscifolia

This is a thickly branched, bushy seaweed species, growing up to 1 metre. The species is tough and leathery with small air bladders found underneath its reproductive bodies. It has a green colouration but also shows an iridescent blue-green glow underwater.

Habitat: Found across the lower regions of rocky shorelines and within rockpools.

Status: This species is frequently found in the Channel Islands and South-West coastline of the UK.
