Latin name: Scilla autumnalis

This miniature lily, growing to just 7 cm high, can be found in good numbers in coastal turf and in bare ground around the cliffs from July onwards.  The plant is nationally scarce, being found only in Cornwall, parts of Devon and in the Channel Islands.  It can be found in flower on Alderney from July through to September in short calcareous grasslands such as along the east coastal path and the main coastal track from Essex Hill back to St Anne.
