Latin name: Hypholoma fasciculare --POISONOUS--

This sulphur yellow fungus grows, often in dense tufts, on dead wood. It is most abundant from summer to autumn but can be found throughout the year. The caps are yellow edged with centres which are more orange. When young the cap is domed but it becomes funnel shaped with age. The gills are bright olive green becoming purplish black. It is rather toxic, but not deadly.
