LIVE: Teaching Through Nature

LIVE:Teaching Through Nature is an interactive and engaging educational project for primary school pupils throughout the British Isles. LIVE aims to educate and inspire a love of nature in pupils, while helping to promote creativity and confidence.

LIVE for schools is an exciting and unique educational project which was piloted in 2013, and is now on its fourth year.

LIVE offers schools the opportunity to bring the natural world into their classrooms, with the help of a team of teachers and young ecologists. By using the dramatic lives of seabirds the project brings nature into the classrooms of Keystage 1 & 2 students - covering topics as diverse as Science, Literacy, Numeracy, Art and Geography.

The LIVE programme runs from April to July and is supported by over 300 resource packages and teaching aids, as well as a daily stream of blogs by the Alderney's Wildlife Trust's Team for the 11 week core programme.

ITV Channel went to visit one school taking part in 2013 with their mascot Oscar the Puffin
